Hi there!
Welcome to the University of Southampton Astronomy Society, AstroSoc. We are a group of amateur astronomers studying at the University of Southampton. We welcome anyone at the University with an interest in astronomy - no prior experience required. Our members are always happy to help newcomers learn the ropes, from how to read the sky to how to set up and use a telescope.So... why not come down and have a go? We normally meet every Monday inside the SUSU building, and provided the skies are clear, we head out onto the common to observe. However, if the British weather is up to its usual tricks then we have other activities such as quizzes and astronomy talks - or we just head down to a local pub for a catch up! Throughout the year we try to organise other activities, such as cinema trips or visits to astronomical places of interest.

Due to the large nunber of members in the society, our events are now member only and members will be automatically signed up to the mailing list. Non members are allowed to come to a single event before signing up. If you do want to sign up, you can do so through susu. Feel free to contact us if you have any trouble with this.
